The dredger Mungo went aground shortly after high water this afternoon, it is believed that the cause was steering failure.  The bow is lodged on the training wall that extends beyond the pier, and as the tide receded, the stern rested on the bed of the river.  A tug and pilot boats are in attendance and plan to refloat at high water, which is at 2:33am.

The lifeboat crew remains on standby at the boathouse so that they can launch immediately if required if there is a need to evacuate anyone from the ship or attend in any other way.
