The BBC’s regional news programme South Today will be broadcast live from Littlehampton RNLI lifeboat station on Wednesday 18 May at 6:30pm. All of the usual features will be included, co-ordinated from a mobile studio aboard a double-decker bus, parked on Fisherman’s Quay.
The programme will celebrate the arrival of the new Atlantic 85 lifeboat Renée Sherman, and mark the end of the era of Blue Peter lifeboats, as the fourth and final Blue Peter 1 is withdrawn from service. Former Blue Peter presenter Valerie Singleton will be featured, meeting with some of the original Littlehampton lifeboat crew from the 1960s who crewed the first Blue Peter 1.
Come along and join in, celebrate the new lifeboat – the producers like the local population to be part of outside broadcasts.
