Originally from Bristol, Big Olly has lived in the area since 1997, is married to Dawn and has two children, Louis and Yasmin, and a hamster called Bubbles. Asked about family connections with the RNLI, he blames his involvement on his father-in-law’s habit of visiting the RNLI shop and buying a fridge magnet whenever he visits the coast.
- Hobbies: Snowboarding and cooking, but not at the same time.

- Best lifeboat experience: Representing Littlehampton and meeting the queen at the opening of the Lifeboat College.
