Our lifeboat medical adviser, Dr Byars moved to the area 26 years ago and became involved with the RNLI shortly afterwards.  His responsibilities include conducting the regular medicals that the crew members have to undergo as well as supporting the medical training provided by the RNLI’s professional trainers, with the possibility that he may be requested to go to sea if a medical emergency arose that required the attendance of a doctor.
